Wings of Fire is a series of young adult fantasy novels written by Tui T. Sutherland. The story follows a group of dragonets, five young dragons who were prophesized to end a long-standing war between the dragon tribes of Pyrrhia.
The story begins with Clay, a mudwing dragonet, living in a dragon hatchery, where he and the other dragonets are being raised to fulfill the prophecy. They are trained to fight and are taught to hate the other tribes, but Clay is uneasy about this and wonders if there might be another way to bring peace to Pyrrhia.
As the dragonets grow older, they are taken out of the hatchery and sent on a mission to fulfill the prophecy. They set out to find and unite with the missing dragonets of the other tribes, but their journey is fraught with danger and betrayal. They are pursued by the dragonets of destiny, a group of dragons who are determined to stop the prophecy from being fulfilled.
Along the way, the dragonets encounter a variety of characters, including a kind and wise old dragon named Starflight, a tough and determined sandwing named Sunny, and a regal and noble skywing named Glory. Each of these characters helps the dragonets in their own way, teaching them valuable lessons and helping them to see the world in a different light.
