I have never seen a wild thing sorry for itself. It is not in the nature of wild animals to feel sorry for themselves or to express self-pity. They are, after all, creatures of the natural world, and as such, they are conditioned to live in the moment and to adapt to their surroundings. They are survivors, and they do whatever it takes to thrive in their environment, even if that means facing challenges and setbacks.
This is not to say that wild animals do not experience negative emotions or that they do not feel pain. They certainly do. However, they do not wallow in those emotions or allow them to consume them. Instead, they move on and focus on the task at hand, whether it be finding food, protecting their young, or fending off predators.
In contrast, humans often have a tendency to dwell on negative emotions and to feel sorry for ourselves when things do not go as we had hoped or planned. We may feel discouraged, depressed, or defeated when we face setbacks or challenges, and we may allow those negative emotions to consume us. This can be especially true when we compare ourselves to others and feel that we are not measuring up.
But the reality is that setbacks and challenges are a natural part of life, and they provide opportunities for growth and self-improvement. Wild animals understand this instinctively, and they do not let negative emotions hold them back. Instead, they embrace the present moment and use their natural abilities and instincts to overcome any obstacles that come their way.
In short, wild things are not sorry for themselves, and they do not allow negative emotions to define or consume them. They live in the present moment, focusing on what they can control and adapting to their surroundings. We can all learn from this natural resilience and focus on what we can do to move forward and make the most of every moment.
